#1 This is the most misunderstood thing about joining Ryanair, so here it is plainly.
Direct Ryanair contract: employed by Ryanair (or a Ryanair group airline like Buzz, Malta Air, Lauda), a base salary plus sector pay, training with a retention clause.
Agency contract (Crewlink, Workforce International): employed by the agency and placed at a Ryanair base. Typically more variable pay, and the training course fee is deducted from salary over time or paid upfront. Many people start here and move to a direct contract later.
Before you sign, ask: who is my employer, how is training paid for, what is the base salary, how is sector pay calculated, what's the notice period. The recruitment day will tell you which contract is on offer for which base.

#2 This clears up a month of confusion. Is it possible to request a direct contract at the assessment or is it base-dependent?
-
#3 Base-dependent, some bases recruit direct, some through agencies. Ask on the day. If you're flexible on base you may be able to choose a direct one.
