From cabin crew to recruitment consultant, how I use the job every day
-
#1 Nine years BA, now I assess candidates for airlines and other service businesses in Cape Town. What transferred: reading people in the first thirty seconds, running a group exercise, spotting rehearsed answers, and knowing what the job actually needs. What I had to learn: the commercial side, client management, writing reports people pay for. If you are thinking about it, get onto assessor days at your airline's recruitment drives first. That is the internship for this career.

#2 The assessor days advice is the best practical step I have seen for this path. Same for hotel recruitment.

#3 Trainer here, similar story. The job teaches you people; the ground career teaches you the business side.
