Delta bases ranked by how fast you get off reserve (unofficial, 2026)

#1 United person but the question is identical, so posting what Delta friends tell me. Fastest off reserve: the smaller domestic bases and Salt Lake City. Middle: Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis. Slowest: New York, Los Angeles, Boston, Seattle. Two to three years at the slow ones. Choose accordingly and transfer later with seniority.

#2 Roughly right. Atlanta moves faster than people expect because it is huge. New York is the one to avoid for year one unless you must.
