AJet — Appearance & Grooming
AJet trains to Turkish Airlines group standards, so the grooming expectations are the flag carrier's applied to a low-cost operation. The manual itself is not published; it is issued during initial training.
Grooming · AJet
- Hair
- Worn up, secured and off the collar in a natural colour, to the group standard rather than a separate AJet one. Male crew keep hair short and conventionally cut.
- Make-up
- Not published separately. A complete but understated uniform-coordinated face, taught to Turkish Airlines group standards during initial training, is the working expectation.
- Facial hair
- No published rule. Clean-shaven is the group standard for male crew and what the panel interview expects; confirm during the intake if your circumstances differ.
- Nails
- Short, clean and neutral. No shade or length limits are published, and the group standard is closer to the Gulf carriers than to European low-cost practice.
- Glasses & contacts
- AJet publishes no eyewear rule. Plain prescription frames are unremarkable on the line, and a spare pair is worth carrying on dense multi-sector days.
- Piercings
- Not published. One pair of small plain earrings for female crew and none for male crew is what the group uniform standard assumes.
- Jewellery
- Minimal and plain — a watch and a simple ring, nothing decorative over the uniform. No separate AJet list is published.
- Tattoos in uniform
- Nothing may be visible in uniform, aligned with Turkish Airlines group standards — which means the check is made against what a short sleeve exposes, not against what you can cover. Forearm, wrist, hand, neck and face designs rule you out; covered placements do not.
- Headscarf
- AJet does not publish a headscarf policy, and neither does its parent. Ask recruitment directly during an intake rather than relying on second-hand accounts.
- Uniform
- A practical uniform in AJet's own brand identity, distinct from the mainline Turkish Airlines look but issued to group image standards. Fitting and the image module happen during initial training before line flying from Sabiha Gökçen or Esenboğa.
- Weight & proportion
- AJet applies a height-weight proportion check during document screening, in line with Turkish Airlines group practice, followed by aviation medical certification. The band itself is not published.
Grooming rules change more often than any other requirement. Verify them on the airline's official careers page before you buy anything or book a hair appointment.
Frequently asked questions
Are AJet's grooming standards the same as Turkish Airlines'?
They are aligned. AJet trains to Turkish Airlines group standards, so hair, tattoo and appearance expectations follow the flag carrier's, applied to a low-cost operation. The manual is issued in training rather than published.
Does AJet check height and weight proportion?
Yes, at document screening, in line with group practice, with aviation medical certification afterwards. No BMI band or weight figure is published.
Can AJet cabin crew have tattoos?
Not visible ones. Nothing may show in uniform under group standards, which rules out forearm, hand, neck and face designs while covered placements are unaffected.
